Macross Delta Scramble covers the events told in the Macross Delta anime series, set eight years after the events in Macross Frontier and Macross 30: Voices Across the Galaxy.

STORY PREMISE

It is the year 2067 A.D.. Eight years have passed since the Frontier Colonial Fleet's battle with the Vajra ended, and since then the galaxy has been at peace. That fragile peace is about to be shattered: multiple Zentraedi have begun to suffer from a mysterious plague called “Var Syndrom,” which suppresses their reason and transforms them into mindless, violent berserkers who can only be calmed down by Deculture! An elite team of fighter pilots/idols, the Walküre, use the power of their song to manage to ever-increasing outbreaks of Var Syndrom.
Meanwhile, at the edge of colonized space, the self-proclaimed Windermere Kingdom has declared war on the New United Government, taking advantage of the chaos spread by Var Syndrom to invade the Brisingr Cluster and secure their independence by force.

Hayate Immelmann (ハヤテ・インメルマン ): A pilot in the Chaos PMC's Delta Squardon, Hayate Immelman possessed “fold receptors” that rendered him immune to Var Syndrom and heightened his sense and combat abilities. Hayate fought bravely against the Windermere Kingdom during their war for independence. From Macross Delta.
Mirage Farina Jenius (ミラージュ・ファリーナ・ジーナス ): Granddaughter of the famous Maximilian Jenius and Milia Farina Jenius, Mirage Farina Jenius was an ace pilot assigned to the Chaos PMC's special Delta Squadron. She fought valiantly against the Windermere Kingdom during their war for independence. From Macross Delta.
Messer Ihlefeld (メッサー・イーレフェルト ): An ace pilot assigned to the Chaos PMC's special Delta Squadron, Messer Ihlefeld fought bravely against the Windermere Kingdom during their war for independence. From Macross Delta.
Arad Mölders (アラド・メルダース ): Commander of the Chaos PMC's special Delta Squadron, Arad Mölders fought against the Windermere Kingdom during their war for independence. He also served as Chaos' liason to the mysterious Lady M . From Macross Delta.
Chuck Mustang (チャック・マスタング ): A native Ragnan and member of the Chaos PMC's special Delta Squadron, Chuck Mustang also ran the Chinese/Ragnan fusion restaurant “Ragu-Nyan-Nyan” with his sister, Marianne Mustang. From Macross Delta.
Kaname Buccaneer (カナメ・バッカニア ): A young singer/musician from the planet Divide, Kaname Buccaneer became the leader of the Walküre Tactical Sound Squadron which was instrumental in combatting the spread of Var Syndrome. From Macross Delta.
Mikumo Guynemer (美雲・ギンヌメール ): The lead vocalist of the Walküre Tactical Sound Squadron, Mikumo Guynemer's songs were instrumental in combatting the spread of Var Syndrome. From Macross Delta.
Freyja Wion (フレイア・ヴィオン ): Joining the Walküre Tactical Sound Team after running away from her home in Windermere to avaid an araranged marriage, Freyja Wion faced suspicon and distrust once the Windermere Kingdom began its war of independence against the New United Nations government. Nonetheless, Freyja maintained a positive attitude and resolved to use the power of her song to help end the fighting. From Macross Delta.
Makina Nakajima (マキナ・中島 ): A skilled Valkyrie mechanic and member of the Walküre Tactical Sound Unit, Makina Nakajima was instrumental in maintaining the relationships of the Walküre team as the conflict with the Windermere Kingdom escalated. From Macross Delta.
Reina Prowler (レイナ・プラウラー ): A talented computer hacker and member of the Walküre Tactical Sound Unit, Reina Prowler worked tirelessly to help stymy the threat of Var Syndrome and defend against the Windermere Kingdom during their war for independence. From Macross Delta.
Keith Aero Windermere (キース・エアロ・ウィンダミア ): Leader of the Windermere Kingdom's elite Aerial Knights squadron, Keith Windermere was a skilled pilot who fought courageous with a heavily customized SV-262HS Draken III variable fighter. From Macross Delta.
Bogue Confaart (ボーグ・コンファールト ): A valkyrie pilot in the elite Aeria Knights squadron, Bogue Confaart fought bravely during the Windermere Kingdom's war for independence from the New United Nations government. From Macross Delta.
Theo Jussila (テオ・ユッシラ): Twin brother to Xao Jussila, Theo Jussila was a member of the Windermere Kingdom's elite Aerial Knights squadron who fought against the NUNS government during Windermere's war for independence. From Macross Delta.
Xao Jussila (ザオ・ユッシラ): Twin brother to Theo Jussila, Xao Jussila was a member of the Windermere Kingdom's elite Aerial Knights squadron who fought against the NUNS government during Windermere's war for independece. From Macross Delta.
Herman Klaus (ヘルマン・クロース ): A skilled pilot in the service of the Windermere Kingdom, Herman Klaus helped to train both Keith Aero Windermere and Lloyd Brehm when they formed the elite Aerial Knights squadron. From Macross Delta.
Qasim Eberhart (カシム・エーベルハルト): A pilot with the Chaos PMC, Qasim Eberhart was initially antagonistic towards Hayate Immelmann, but after a mission infiltrating the Windermere Kingdom the two men grew to respect one another. From Macross Delta.
Heinz Nerich Windermere (ハインツ・ネーリッヒ・ウィンダミア ): The young prince of the Windermere Kingdom, Heinz Nerich Windermere and half-brother to Keith Aero Windermere, his strange abilities as a “wind singer” allowed him to propogate the Var Syndrome. From Macross Delta.
Lloyd Brehm (ロイド・ブレーム ): A friend of Keith Aero Windermere, Roid Brehm joined the Windermere Kingdom's elite Aerial Knights squadron. Trained as a pilot by Herman Klaus, Lloyd Brehm fought valiantly in the Windermere Kingdom's war for independence from the New United Nations government. From Macross Delta.
Ichijo Hikaru (一条輝): A skilled stunt pilot who refused to participate in the Unification Wars due to his distaste for violence, Ichijo Hikaru was one of the few pilots to survive the initial Zentraedi attack on Earth. As the SDF-1 began its long trek back home after accidentally defolding at the edge of the solar system, Ichijo became a combat pilot to defend the humans from the Zentran threat, eventually earning a reputation as one of the great heroes of the Earth/Zentran War. Lynn Minmay (リン・ミンメイ): Originally a civilian working as a waitress on South Ataria Island, Lynn Minmay was evacuated to the SDF-1 Macross when the Zentraedi attacked. As the SDF-1 journied back to Earth, she found a new role as a singer and a musician.. From SDF Macross.
Alto Saotome (早乙女アルト): A hot-headed pilot who dreamed of flying through an unfettered sky, Alto Saotome joined the Strategic Military Services (or SMS) PMC after commandering a VF-25 variable fighter during the first Vajra attack on the Frontier fleet. From Macross Frontier.
Sheryl Nome (シェリル・ノーム): Known across space as the “Galactic Fairy,” Sheryl Nome was a brilliant musician and singer from the slums of the Macross Galaxy Fleet. As the Vajra Conflict intensified, Sheryl's voice became instrumental both in heightening the morale of the beleagured Frontier population and in reaching the mysterious Vajra creatures. Ranka Lee (ランカ・リー ): A young waitress who aspired to become a singer like her idol, the Galactic Fairy, Sheryl Nome. Ranka Lee's voice eventually became instrumental both in heightening the beleagured Fronter's population and in establishing communication with the mysterious Vajra entities. From Macross Frontier.
Nekki Basara (熱気バサラ ): A hot-headed musician from the Macross 7 Fleet, Nekki Basara followed in the footsteps of the legendary Lynn Minmay during the war with the Protodeviln by attempting to pacify them with the power of his song. Nekki Basara was a founding member of the Sound Force and one of the first people to recognize and manipulate Spiritia—which enabled him to help end hostilities between the Macross 7 Fleet and the Protodeviln. Mylene Jenius (レーヌ・フレア・ジーナス ): The seventh and youngest daughter of Maximilian Jenius and Milia Farina Jenius, Mylene Jenius was a member of the band, Fire Bomber, and later one of the founding members of the Sound Force. Together with Nekki Basara, she helped to end hostilities between the Macross 7 Fleet and the Protodeviln. From Macross Seven.
Shin Kudo (工藤シン ): A United Nations pilot who fought in the Unification Wars, he became a test pilot for the VF-0 Phoenix prototype Valkyrie. After being shot down over the Mayan Islands by Anti-U.N. Forces, he formed a relationship with two native islanders: the sisters Mao and Sara Nome. From Macross Zero.
Sara Nome (サラ・ノーム ): ?A Mayan priestess, Sara sometimes displays supernatural abilities. A pacifist by nature, she resents the violence wrought upon her island in the wake of Shin Kudo's crash landing. Despite her resentment, both Sara and her sister, Mao, find themselves attracted to the U.N. pilot. From From Macross Zero.
Isamu Dyson (イサム・ダイソン): A veteran pilot with the New United Nations Space Agency and childhood friend of Buld Goa Bowman and Myung Fang Lone, Isamu Dyson was one of the first test pilots for the prototype YF-19 Valkyrie. He would later be instrumental in resolving the Sharon Apple incident. From Macross Plus.
Guld Goa Bowman (ガルド・ゴア・ボーマン): A veteran pilot with the United Nations Space Agency and childhood friend of Isamu Dyson and Myung Fang Lone, Guld Goa Bowman was one of the first test pilots for the prototype YF-21 Valkyrie. He would later be instrumental in resolving the Sharon Apple incident. From Macross Plus.
Myung Fang Lone (ミュン・ファン・ローン): A childhood friend of both Isamu Dyson and Guld Goa Bowman, Myung Fang Lone, a skilled singer herself, acted as the manager for the Sharon Apple artificial intelligence. From Macross Plus.
Leon Sakaki (リオン・榊): A passionate test-pilot temporarily re-assigned to the SMS special research branch on the planet Ouroboros after a crash landing. He teams up with Mina Forte to try and solve the many mysteries of Ourobors. From Macross 30.
Mina Forte (ミイナ・フォルテ): A mysterious amnesiac girl discovered sleeping in the ancient ruins on planet Ouroboros. Her past may hide some clue to unravel the secrets of Ouroboros' many mysteries. From Macross 30.
Maximilian Jenius (マクシミリアン・ジーナス): DLC. A brilliant fighter pilot who served in Skull Squadron under Ichijo Hikaru during the Earth-Zentraedi War, Maximilian Jenius was the first human to initiate a relationship with a Zentraedi. After marrying Milia Farina, who had once fought against him as an enemy, he became of the father of the Human/Zentran hybrid race following the birth of his first daughter. After the war, Maxilian became the commander of the Macross 7 Colony Fleet. From SDF Macross, Macross Seven.
Milia Farina (ミリア・ファリーナ): DLC. An ace Zentran pilot who fought against the SDF-1 Macross during the Earth-Zentraedi War, she met Maximilian Jenius after infiltrating the ship and the two fell in love. After marrying Maximilian, she became the mother of the Human/Zentran hybrid race following the birth of her first daughter. After the war, Milia became the governor of the Macross 7 Colony Fleet. Hayao Kakizaki (柿崎・速雄): DLC. A rookie pilot and member of the famous Skull Squadron, Hayao Kakizaki fought valiantly in the Human-Zentraedi War to defend the SDF-1 as it voyaged back to Earth. Hayao was ultimately killed-in-action during a Zentraedi assault. From SDF Macross.
Michael Blanc (ミハエル・ブラン): DLC. A fighter pilot and expert sniper working for SMS, Michael Blanc fought to defend the Macross Frontier Colony Fleet against the Vajra threat. From Macross Frontier.
Ozma Lee (オズマ・リー): DLC. A veteran combat pilot working for SMS, Ozma Lee was the older brother of Ranka Lee and a fan of Nekki Basara's band, Fire Bomber. Ozma fought to defend the Macross Frontier Colony Fleet against the Vajra threat. From Macross Frontier.
Klan Klan (クラン・クラン): DLC. A skilled pilot and leader of the SMS Pixie Team, Klan Klan fought alongside her childhood friend, Michael Blanc, to defend the Macross Frontier Colony Fleet from the Vajra menace. From Macross Frontier.
Gamlin Kizaki (ガムリン・木崎 ): DLC. An ace pilot of NUNS' elite Diamond Force Valkyrie squadron assigned to the Macross 7 Colony Fleet, Gamlin Kizaki fought tirelessly to defend the fleet from Protodeviln agressors. Initially deeply resentful of Nekki Basara's involvement in the conflict, Gamlin eventually grew to respect him and helped to support the Sound Force in the latter days of the Protodeviln conflict. Sharon Apple (シャロン・アップル ): DLC. An articifical intelligence controlled by Myung Fang Lone, Sharon Apple was an extremely popular singer and musician. From Macross Zero.
Aisha Blanchett (アイシャ・ブランシェト): DLC. A Zentran prodigy serving as commander of the SMS special research branch on planet Ouroboros. An optimistic and energetic woman, she strives to decipher the mysteries of Ouroboros by studying the countless ruins that dot the landscape. From Macross 30.
