Another week, another chapter of The Origin. Can I keep this up? --I don't know.
On the off-chance that anyone is interested, here is the Origin's version of Gihren's speech, minus the bits we didn't get to hear, obviously. (How often do you get to see elipses actually used correctly...? Opportunities like this don't happen every day!)
The military might of Zeon is less than one-thirteenth that of the Earth Federation! But in spite of this fact we have, why is it that we have been able to fight so valiantly up until now? Citizens! It is because our goals in this war are noble!
It is something everyone who lives in the colonies knows well! We will drive them from Earth. Our noble cause must never be abandoned!
For more than a half century the Earth has been ruled by a small, elite group of aging plutocrats. Time and time again this Earth elite has denied the most basic of rights and liberties to those of us who dwell in space! The tyranny of the Earth cannot be allowed to continue!
Once Zeon Deikun said that humankind's evolution would begin in the stars! And his words ring true! We who live in the cold of space, why is it that we have endured for so long? Or principality embraces the ideals of Zeon Deikun! That is why we have survived and that is why we will prevail! Our fight is a fight for the freedom of all humanity! We can never give up! My brother--my brother who was beloved by all of Zeon--is dead! Why!?
Our nation has been chosen to usher in a new era! Our victory has already been written! From Garma's death we must find new strength! We must rise up! We must conquer our sorrow! For the sake of all our futures!
However, our superiority to the Earth Federation is proven with every battle! Many of our fathers and brothers have already perished in this senseless war! We must never forget any of our grief and fury! With Garma's death we will strengthen our resolve! The time is now! We will turn our rage upon the Federation! Only then will we obtain true victory! The brave soldiers who fight for this victory embody all our highest ideals!
Take your sorrow and mold it into anger! Rise up!
We are citizens of the Principality of Zeon! Never forget that we are the people chosen by destiny! Zeon thirsts for the strength of her people! Togther we shall grant salvation to all of mankind!
What is it with politicians using twenty words where five would do? Brevity, folks: it's not just a good thing, it's one of the best things.
