Time to kick off the new blog with an interesting bit of Macross news... this October, our friend in Japan will see the release of Macross Trial Frontier, the first Macross title for the Playstation 3. Due out on October 7, 2010, Trial Frontier will have a retail price of 7,140 yen.
Details regarding this new title are predictably slim: we know that it will include all of the typical Macross elements: transformable fighters, lots of singing, and more missiles flying through the air than you can imagine. Check out the scans of the Famitsu article for details:
One of the more interesting details is that the game will come bundled with a copy of the movie, Macross Frontier: The False Songstress. For those who aren't aware, the Macross Frontier television series spawned two movies: The False Songstress was the first, and serves as a film adaptation of the anime series. The second, titled "Wings of Goodbye," is a sequel, and is not yet released.
Since the game is bundled with a movie, odds are fairly good that it won't be much of a game. Might this be a demo for a full version Macross game on the PS3? Only time will tell.
